Why sign up to join WHWMS?

 

Our subscription is currently £10 per year.

 

Membership provides mailings and information about all our upcoming events both educational and social.

 

Our Medical Society has been in existence for more than 160 years and is one of the oldest of its kind in the country.

​

Our members are doctors of all grades, both hospital & community based, who are linked with West Herts, Watford & adjacent areas. At present we have just over 170 members.

​

The Society runs both Social & Educational events throughout the year, including our Annual Dinner at Moor Park Mansion. This is usually a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and make new ones.

​

A typical year involves educational and entertainment evenings, a summer garden party, a trip to the Christmas pantomime and family friendly outings. We are also fortunate in being able to provide access to educational sessions for young doctors on parental leave, who can attend seminars along with their young children in a safe environment. Over the years the Society has also arranged a number of exciting trips abroad with visits to India, Zimbabwe, Prague, Dubrovnik, Istanbul and Lisbon among others.

​

The Society has recently returned to a scientific theme with the President’s Prize meeting and a series of GP-Consultant Forums.

​

There is a small committee which includes the President, two Vice Presidents, Secretary, Dinner Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Secretary and two Committee Members.

​

The Society is particularly popular for the social links it provides for local doctors across all specialities.
